Start the New Year with Glossy Hair

Coconut Oil & Olive Oil

Hey everyone, wishing you all a Happy New Year. To kick start the New Year I thought why not let you into my little beauty secret, Hair oil. Now I know there are plenty of masks, hair treatments and oils on the market at some reasonable prices as well. I am not saying they are not just as good or better, however this one is cheap and easy to do in the heart of your home. I am sure you have heard of this treatment millions of times before and I know for sure there are hundreds of blog's and video's of this treatment but I thought I would share with you what I do and how you can achieve glossy, shiny and healthier hair in 3 easy steps.

                   What you will need:
                       Coconut oil
                       Olive Oil
Plastic Bowl
Tea spoon
Microwave

Step 1.  Take a spoon full of coconut oil and place this into your plastic bowl. Heat in the Microwave for 1 minute (800w) stirring half way. Your oil will not be dissolved fully,if it has dissolved to a complete oil do not worry just take half the time off in step 2.

Step 2. Add a spoon full of Olive Oil to the mixture and stir. Place in the microwave again for a further 30-45 seconds (800w). Be careful when you take the mixture out as the oil or bowl could be hot.

Step 3. Stir the mixture again and leave for 10-20 seconds until the mixture has cooled slightly. You still want the mixture to be warm so it has more effect on the hair. Then all you want to do is cover your hair in the oil, concentrating on the damage parts of your hair. I personally leave the oil on for a hour or so. Then wash your hair with your regular shampoo and conditioner and you will have a achieved healthier and shiner hair.

* Be aware that if you leave this oil for longer than 5-10 minutes it will harden. This is due to the coconut oil as coconut oil hardens at room temperature. Do not worry as you can heat this up again.

* Another tip for you is that you can even use this oil on your body, concentrating on your dry parts.

Coconut Oil is available at drugstores/high street shops e.g boots/superdrug or Olive Oil can be purchased in any supermarket as can Coconut Oil.
I hope you enjoyed this quick easy hair treatment and don't forget to tweet/instagram me a picture of you trying this out.

GlossyBox |November|2012

Hey everyone, sorry this post is a little bit late, but hey its better late than never right? So I got my GlossyBox on Monday and I was so excited to see what treats I got this month.

The first product I came across was the Nails Inc.Caviar top coat. I was super excited to give this a try as I have heard some good reviews about it. It says in the 'menu' that its the Sunday times style beauty award winner, so at this point  my hopes were high however after giving it ago I have found it to be no better than my Sally Hansen Insta Dri. It dry's quite fast but not as fast at the Sally Hansen one however it chips really easy. So not the best but over all its a decent top coat. If you are wanting to try them out I am pretty sure that they are giving them away in a Magazine this month. £11-£12 /10ml

Next up is this body cream from the brand Alison Claire Natural Beauty. I have never heard of the brand before so I was eager to try this out. I love my body creams and body butters although I am lazy with applying them. The 'menu' says that its a delicious blend of organic mango and coco butter that will leave your skin feeling wonderful. I am not sure about wonderful but its a nice cream. Its nothing special compared to the body shop butters, the smell is nice, it reminds me of a type of sweet I ate when I was little (can't remember what ). £15/200ml

Ayuuri - Indian Rose face cream. This product is probably the worst product from the box. It really annoys me when GlossyBox put products in that are not high end products. I don't mind trying out new things, that's why I purchase the box but I am sure they are supposed to send you high end products for you to try not products that only cost a fiver. Any ways as you can tell the picture is at the wrong angle. I have tried several times to change it and my computer is being silly, so excuse the fact that you may have to tilt your head to the side.  The 'menu' says that these face creams moisturise your skin without leaving your skin greasy. The cream that I got contains Jasmine and Aloe Vera to keep the skin moist and protect it from ageing elements. I think I will be giving this cream to my mum as am scared to try out face creams as my skin is very sensitive and prone to breakouts.  £4.95/200ml

Burberry body Eau de Parfum. I was really happy to see this in the box this month. Normally I hate sample sizes of perfume because lets face it you can get them for free so I hate the thought of me paying for a sample of a perfume. However this is not an ordinary sample, you get an actual glass bottle! The smell isn't really me however it is nice to have in you hand bag to freshen up throughout the day. The 'menu' says an effortlessly sensual, feminine fragrance with an eclectic combination of green absinthe, rose and cashmeran. £75/85ml
Lastly is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant. I am always super excited to try Dermalogica's products as I am prone to breakouts and to be honest I can always afford their products either. The 'menu' says a unique rice-based powder that gently exfoliates skin, leaving it noticeably smoother and brighter. I have high hopes for this product. £38.50/75g

I hope you are all having a lovely November and let me know in the comments below what was your favourite product from this month's GlossyBox.

GET THE LOOK | Mila Kunis

Hey everyone, so as I was searching the web to do this Look it seems that Mila is always dressed casual on her days off which I love. Not many celebs dress down on their days off however it is often seen that Mila is either rocking jeans or sweat pants. What ever she wears she always looks amazing any ways because in my eyes she is a natural beauty. This outfit is mega easy and simple to achieve and it can be super cheap to achieve by just going to Primark and picking out everything she is wearing from there, although if you don't want to shop at Primark because its always busy or you don't live near one then here are some items from other Brands which may help you.

Basic's

This stripy top is such an essential  piece which can make an outfit look like you have made an effort with out it being to over the top. It casual enough to throw a hoodie over the top to just do errands or you can smarten it up for a meeting by adding a blazer.

Every girl needs a pair of skinny jeans!

Shoe's

I know Primark at the moment are selling ankle boots like Mila's in Black,Red,Green, and leopard print for about £8 but since they don't have a website I shall give you another alternative. These are not grey however they have been on trend for the past two years and will work well with this outfit regardless of the colour.

Coat

I was not able to find one similar to Mila's coat/jacket either however I would suggest to add a blazer for a chick/work outfit or a parka coat for super cold days to give a casual vibe to the outfit.

Internacionale £24.99                                                                                   Internacionale £39.99

                           or

Total : £59.96 (with blazer )
           £74.96 (with parka)

I hope you all enjoyed this post ,

GET THE LOOK | Demi Lovato

Hey lovelies, recently I have been watching X factor USA and have been loving Demi Lovato. I never really heard of here before X factor but I have been loving her style. This outfit is more summery however with some woolly tights, fur coat and some boots it can easily be changed to a winter outfit. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to check out next weeks post on Mila Kunis.

Basic's

To keep it to this season's fashion I would go for leather shorts. In the head on shot it looks as if Demi has leather shorts on,however on the side on shot they look like cotton shorts? A simple white plain T-shirt can make an outfit look more smart and put together.

         H&M £14.99
                                                                                                                                      H&M £7.99

Shoe's

These are the closest I could find to the pair like Demi's, however you could change it up to a pair of classic black heels, swede wedges or boots for the winter.

Accessories

All of these accessories are optional and can be changed to what ever suits you. I love the feather necklace as it adds a boo hoo/festival feel to the outfit.

Chunky pearl and gold plated bangle setEbay £6.99

                                                                           Ebay £6.99

ShopStyle/Miss Selfridge £25

Total : £81.36

I love this outfit. It has the festival feel with the hat and the feather necklace, as well as being  edgy with leather shorts.

What's your favourite way to style for the winter?

SLEEK BB | Review

Hey everyone, so I thought id do a mini review on the Sleek BB cream I purchased recently  I love Sleek and think there products are amazing value for money. Their blushers (which I own lots of) are very pigmented and have a lovely colour range for all skin tones. Their eye pallets are amazing! 12 eye shadows for £7.99 and there massively pigmented. Their eye pencils don't smudge and stay on and that is key for me as I have oily eye lids. Okay so am going to stop rambling on about how much I adore Sleek and get into the review.

I've worn this twice and normally I stay away from anything other than my foundation that works for me (Revlon Colour Stay) , however I thought I would give this one ago as I love all of there other products. It was £8.99 and super drug had an offer on 3 for 2 across all make-up and I think its the first time that the Sleek line have ever been in such an offer. Whenever I would go they was pretty much the only brand that never did offers. So any who I picked it up, hearing such good things about it and thought id give it a go.

I got the colour Light and they only had 3 colours in super drug at the time , and medium looked far to dark for me. When I came to put it on, the constancy is very much of a BB cream even though it claims to be full coverage I thought it may be thicker but its not. I wouldn't say its full coverage, its probably the most full coverage of BB creams however it didn't cover my spots or dark under eye circles so I had to use concealer which am not to fussed about using any ways .It stayed on my skin all day and looked very natural. Towards the end of the day I noticed my forehead had gotten oily (I do have an oily complexion), so I had to powered it. The oiliness may be due to it having SPF15 and jojoba oil. Although for those ingredients that made me oily (however they are good ingredients ), there are ingredients such as Vitamin E and Vitamin C which will all know are good for our skin, red algae extract which provides anti-ageing properties and it is also very moisturising.

What's your favourite BB cream?

Hey lovelies  so everyone wants to look like a celebrity and sometimes it can be so expensive to achieve the look. Most shops now a days copy A Lister looks and make it easier for us guys on a budget. This is the first 'GET THE LOOK' and there will be plenty more. I will be posting 'GET THE LOOK' once a week, so make sure you pop back !

This look is going to be the utterly stunning Kim Kardashian. Kim is one of my most favourite celebrity and i admire her fashion and beauty. Her day time looks always seem to be simple and effortless, yet she still looks amazing.

Basic's

Any black skinny jeans and an over sized T-shirt will do. The blazer and the shoes do all the work for you,so you don't have to worry about being too dressed up or following a fashion trend.

 H&M £19.99                                                                                                      River Island £20

Blazer and Heels

I love this blazer, it pulls an outfit together and makes it look like you've spent ages deciding on your outfit when really underneath you've got on your basics. Black simple heels always make you look elegant. They make the outfit look more expensive than what it is and plus they make your legs look longer!

Blazer House of Fraser £16.00

These are just simple accessories that complete the look.

Full of grace-Serum Bar |LUSH

Hey everyone, this a review on the Full of Grace -serum bar from Lush. I was first introduce to this bar last year by a lady who worked in the store. She said that she used it and it would be okay for my oily skin because it contains Rose water which would hydrate it, which is what i needed since i use so many products to dry out my skin to combat the oiliness. But then on a lovely sunny day i put it near the window and it melted so i had to purchase a new one (so beware of the sun!). I purchased another one because it worked really well with my skin combination.

It smells lovely, a bit grandma like but its a nice herbal rose sent so not too mature for my nose. When worked in the skin it turns to an oil, so you hardly need any at all. I tend to rub it on my cheek's if i get breaks outs or just in general and then rub the remains over the rest of my face. It seems to work well on my skin however when i have rubbed the bar on my fore head it seems to give me to much product and the next day i am an oily mess. So if you do have oily areas i would say just use the remains of the oil you have left on your oily areas and not the bar itself. It contains Amazonian Butters which i have no idea what they are however it claims to moisturise your skin so that's a bonus too. Lush claims that it doesn't leave your skin feeling heavy or oily which i would agree although there is a slight residue once you have applied but that soon sinks in.

When i wake up in the morning from applying it on a night (before bed), my skin feels so soft and it doesn't clog my pores to much. I tend to use it every other night as i find if i use it too much my skin breaks out and becomes more oiler. It would be great for more dry/normal skin types and even skin like mine although bare in mind you may need to work with it for it to work for you.

PanOxyl 5%

Hey everyone, so i wanted to share my review with you all on Panoxyl cream. Some of you may not know what it is or what it does and either did i until i was browsing on YouTube and came across it. Let me just put one thing straight first i am in no means a doctor or claim to be one but i wanted to share my thoughts and make you stay clear from this product. I am not going to talk you through what’s in it and what it contains because quite frankly i don’t know, but there are plenty of other blogs and chat rooms that do know.

Its a spot treatment which contains 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. Its a thin white cream which looks like its water based but stinks of peroxide. It obviously is meant to clear away your spot areas by bleaching your skin. Yes BLEACHING your skin, oh and clothes! So at first you can imagine i was thinking yes finally something that works after the many years of failing to get rid of spots. I was scared then to find out it contains peroxide which bleaches your skin. I was uming and aring whether to try it but i went ahead and gave it ago. By the way the leaflet does not let you know what it is doing to your skin so be warned.

At first it was a miracle, spots had vanished completely. I was blemish free and i could finally shout out hallelujah from the roof tops. I used a thin layer every night as it suggested, even when you didn’t have spots (so that they wouldn’t come back). I used it for approximately a month until i started seeing the damage. Okay so my skin didn’t turn white like MJ however it ruined it! The bleaching wasn’t good for my skin in no means but i didn’t realise what the product actually did to it until i was faced with it one morning.

I woke up and my face was burning, on fire. It was covered in a red raw rash from where i had put the cream. I couldn’t cover it, as foundation only made it worse and more noticeable. It was itchy, sore and did i say ON FIRE? I applied camomile lotion all over and kept reapplying to make it go away. I thought this might be a once off as i had read many reviews saying it dry’s skin out blah blah blah. However none had said what i had got. So i tried it again once the rash had gone about a week later and the same thing happened again. My mum and boyfriend warned me to stay away from it and my mum literally told me not to use it again. So it has stayed in my cupboards for about 6 months now and i keep thinking shall i try it again, shall i get the 2.5% one and see how that goes, because the best thing about it was i had never seen my skin so clear but the worst thing was the rash and burning sensation (oh and the bleaching). It clearly damaged my skin but my skin has returned to normal now, although i do sometimes get the same rash every now and again from products i have used for years. So for all of you out there considering trying it, please DONT!

GlossyBox|October|2012

So I got home from work to find my October GlossyBox had arrived. I am always so pleased when i get it; it’s such a surprise and a treat for me once a month. I started getting the GlossyBox in May but then I cancelled it in July as I found I couldn’t afford to waste my money on samples. However having more money again I feel like I can splash out a bit more on samples and try new things. The whole point of Glossybox or any subscription beauty box is to try out new things you wouldn’t normally or wouldn’t be able to afford. It can be hit and miss sometimes but pretty much every time a product in the box is worth how much the box costs, so least you kind of make your money back. So after a long intro I will get into Octobers GlossyBox.
First thing I noticed that made my happy with the box already was DERMALOGICA 3 Step day and night Kit. I have wanted to try DERMALOGICA products for a while now but have never got around to buying them and plus I have way too many other face products to try out first, but i can’t wait to try out this. It says in the GlossyBox menu that it Cleanse, Tones and Moisturises, that sounds pretty standard but at least there in travel size bottles so it's always good to take away with you. This kit is worth £12.

Next I noticed a Body Scrub by ANATOMICALS (never heard of it?). It says on the GlossyBox menu that it’s a pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with a bravura sense of charm and wit. This should be interesting to try out, anything that can give you a bit of charm and wit is worth trying. Original Product £3.49/200ml.

Then I saw this Anti-blemish solution by SKINETICA. This claim’s to clear blemishes, showing results in 2-3days.Its kind to the skin with no side effects. I will be definitely giving this a try, as i have very sensitive skin but blemish prone so this should be great. Original Product £6.99/100ml.

Last is a Lipstick by YVES ROCHER FRANCE. When i looked at the lipstick it looked red but after swatching it; it’s a pink/berry colour. It claims to be perfect coverage from first application; a smooth supple luminous film covering the lips. This is the full product so you have got more for your money’s worth.OriginalProduct £14.50/3.7g.

Overall it has been a pretty good GlossyBox this month, I can't wait to try out every product and not one thing has let me down in this month's box. I have made my money back, great sample size products and full products and everything suits my preference.
Hope you enjoyed your GlossyBox,

LUSH | HAUL

Let’s get one thing straight first I AM A LUSHAHOLIC. I have tried most things from lush and I must say everything I have tried I have loved! I went to town yesterday and thought I needed to treat myself as I haven't been to Lush in a while so I dragged my boyfriend in and at the same time showed him a few things I’d like for Christmas(encase he ever forgets LOL). I was overwhelmed as always by the smells, the assistants and not to mention it was jam packed! I always hated going into the store because sometimes i find the assistants a bit to overly keen and not just one assistant would ask you if your okay, they would all, one after the other. I finally got over it and took the plunge ever since, I kind of go in there and know what am getting, I don't like to hang around too long because then they will spot you and hunt you down. I am not being awful but sometimes you just want to get your bubble bath or cream and get home, not stand around discussing whether you like this new fragrance. Right, now my Lush ramble is over I will start by saying they have their CHRISTMAS stock!

Here's what I got:
All this for £19.35 BARGIN!

Candy moutain Bubble Bar £2.45.I bought this last year and I fell in love with it! It only comes out around Christmas time so this year I am going to stock up on it. Last year it was just pink, but I like how they have added green into it, it makes it look a bit more fun. This also smells like Snow fairy which is BEAUTIFUL!

Let the Good Times Roll ,Facial Cleanser £5.95. This smells AMAZING! It has caramel and popcorn in it and that’s exactly what it smells like, it’s so good I want to eat it. I usually get the Angles on Bare Skin Cleanser but I thought I would try a new one and this is part of their Christmas range.

Father Christmas Bath Ballistic £3.25. This looks so cute and I can’t wait to pop it in my bath! It has mandarin oil and orange flower in the ingredients so it smells very fresh and fruity.

So White Bath Ballistic £3.20. I thought the idea of this was cool; you throw it into your bath when its white and it soon turns to pink! Its main scent is white apple so it also smells amazing and fresh.

Snow Fairy £3.50 &Charity Pot £1.00. Snow fairy is a must have for me at Christmas time. The smell is wonderful and it lather's up nicely as well. It contains small bits of glitter which make your bath time fun! However the glitter does sink to the bottom so I would suggest standing your bottle on the lid side up. The charity pot is pretty self explanatory, you get somebody and hand cream and the money goes to charity. I love these little pots because once they have been used up you can use them for anything like to put my foundation in it if I am travelling light.

What's your favourite Christmas product from Lush?
